FileMaker Runtime - Sierra Mac OS - Information

My Runtime is running correctly. I try to put my. I get the same issue. My Runtime is now opening correctly on Sierra after I download it from my web site.

And I get 0 message from GateKeeper when I first opening it. This certificate should be installed on your Mac KeyChain. You have instruction on Apple Developer Web Site.

In this folder, you will see instruction for code signing a FileMaker Runtime. In this folder, there is a script named "SignScript". You just need to follow instruction that Christian give in PDF. To do this, you simply drag your SignScript in Terminal Application. Christian do the rest. I have installed Sierra and FMA Same thing here.

No issue with opening the Runtime Solution after created the Runtime. Now, upload your Runtime folder. Uploaded dmg file to DropBox, then downloaded, again no problems opening the runtime. Is this file is working for you? Then I used it to create a runtime, and used "lecanin for the Binding Key. Let me, when you want me to delete this message and therefore access to your file I think I can delete it. You need to codesign the runtime app as well as the disk image. I download and unzip your.

I will give a try to Christian Schmitz recommandation. I become an Apple Certificate Developer and obtain a certificate on my keychain. I have your MBS folder for another customer. I will check that right now. I signed the Runtime. Everything works fine Please use spctl command in terminal to verify the app and the disk image before you upload it somewhere. Both must be signed. As you see in current script I actually repair the frameworks included with the runtime.

Signs are verified with spctl command on Terminal Application and everything seems to be ok. I upload the DMG file on my web site. I download it on my Sierra Mac.. When I execute the runtime, I have a message from Gate Keeper that my runtime could not be open because identity can't be checked. I go to Gate Keeper preference and click "Open". Runtime is executed correctly. And this message occurs only on the first time that I open my Runtime. Is it normal?

If the runtime is properly code signed it will open without a problem, however, I cannot even open your current app developed for Mac OS X The developer cannot be identified.

Did you try generating a new Developer ID? Yes I do. And I get the message only for the first execution of the Runtime. I thought, with codesign and my Apple ID, that GateKeeper don't tell me that this app is not identified. The app can only be opened by 'control' clicking on app icon and selecting 'open' from the pop up menu.

The app behaves like an unsigned app. By the way I love how you can change the language from french to englisch but you should change 'gromming' to grooming' at the top of the screen. Also clicking on it will display an unintended dialog see attachment. Gate Keeper is stopping first execution of my Runtime. I am, of course, having the same issue with runtime. If I find the primary file in the dialog box, as asked, it will then give me an error about the Troi Dialog plugin that is needed for the runtime , and nothing can be done here.

I have found one just one occasion or two if you double-click the PRIMARY file instead of the Application icon, the product will launch and then every subsequent launch can be done properly through the application icon. I am looking into the codesigning solution, but I have two questions, and if anyone can answer them it would be much appreciated. But until then, how do you open the runtime downloaded from a zipped file? It's already compressed. You can also code sign the DMG via the terminal.

DMG Canvas just makes it easier. For more info check out the following thread where you will find the issue and the solutions discussed at great length: Filemaker 13, 14 and 15 runtimes not working on Sierra Beta 2. I should have clarified a bit. Have not yet signed up with the Apple Developer Program so I don't have a certificate. The GPR issue on Sierra seems to be random. Some solutions open fine, others don't.

Until I get the certificate and create new installers, how do I get my customers to launch the solution? I'm able to do so, but when a user downloads the file they can't open it at all. Is there a solution aside from codesigning that will open the file with plugins? Click on the Question Mark on the lower left of the popup. It gives instructions for by passing the security.

Second I tried exactly what Okramis suggested dragging the CD Icon from the header to the desktop while pressing the option key, to run it from there.

I ran the installer from there, it said success, but I got the same dialog box. Third, I had an external drive with a full Superduper backup of my iMac with Sierra where FMP 12 still works through gradual system upgrades. I thought, why not just see what happens. I double-clicked on the program from the backup and got the same result.

So no luck so far. Did you edit the "Assisted Install. Okramis, Your technique was a success. This is slightly different than what you did since I have a CD and not a dmg, and therefore did not have to "show package contents" or right-click anything:. Copied the FileMaker CD icon to the desktop which turned it into a folder. The open folder revealed both the "FileMaker Pro Double-clicked the "FileMaker Pro It followed through to say "success".

The program opened fine and allowed me to do some initial movement through a database. I will test the system gradually over time to see if there are any glitches.

But for now I am very Happy. Thanks Okramis. I do not want to mark this or yours as a correct answer yet because that may cut off discussion. Just wondering how this worked out for you. Is Filemaker 12 performing well on the new machine running Sierra?

Great thread. I haven't experienced any issues in any of the latest OS X a. July 11, June 10, June 7, June 6, June 3, September 3, June 15, August 14, July 28, May 15, April 18, November 12, September 12, August 13, June 13, April 7, February 17, July 19, June 17, March 20, February 16, August 22, May 11, May 18, May 4, November 8, June 9, April 11, May 17, But you got me thinking of a different approach below and it worked! Thank you!! Success all around! Thank you.

I was trying to open my old FMP14 files by directly double-clicking on them. Then I went back to the FMP14 file on my desktop, and double clicked on it. There are good alternatives like Air Table.

But lets look at your cost complaints. You have now used FileMaker 11 for 6. I think you got a great bargain and if you are going to complain about those costs, there are very few commercial software packages that are going to be acceptable to you. If that is your budget, than that is what it is. I personally think you got a great deal. Keep in mind no company like FileMaker is going to stay in business with customers like you unless they stop all development and marketing.

Can you imagine if no feature improvements came out since version 11? That would not be the software company I would want to build a business platform on.

Now I'm wondering how can they call themselves "an Apple subsidiary" when their product doesn't run anymore on Apple OSX and it actually have no problem running on Windows.

It feels like a sneaky marketing move to force you to pay for expensive upgrades. This is not a move on FileMaker's part to get you to pay for expensive upgrades. You are talking about software that was made 7 years ago, running on an OS that wasn't even in planning stages at that point. Supporting versions over many years,. Apple made a lot of underlying changes to the OS.

That affects what works and what does not. It's really important if you are running a mission critical custom app, to test before you upgrade. That message still has not gotten to enough people.

FileMaker 11 is also not compatible with Windows 10 as far as I know. This site contains user submitted content, comments and opinions and is for informational purposes only. Does anyone know what issues there are after upgrading to MacOS Sierra? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! I wouldn't do it. They released information about a upcoming update of FM15v2 yesterday. Biggest issues in 15 and If a CI won't allow to change fonts, if new fonts won't run ie Univers from Linotype , then, a company is running into troubles It cleary says last two versions, so I guess it will be for FM14 also.

I dont think they would have written that sentence otherwise. I bet there will be a announcement "Resolved with FM17" which means you have to purchase latest FM version in order to get old bugs fixed.

Since FM are in a release every year since FM15, we will most probably get a new version around May But this is just my thoughts, no facts. FileMaker's response has always been Nice, huh?

MS Office , which I bought in is still is regularly updated, as are most all of my other programs except FileMaker.

From my memory, there has only been one security release for the previous version once a new version of FileMaker came out. I didn't mean to say that FM itself stops working, just that I have parts that then have problems with a new mac OS release that are not patched by FMI. I can dig though my notes and post them here.

I sure do hope that either Sierra or FMP 14 are fixed so that they work together! I haven't read any issues with Sierra and FMP Most of the issues reported seem to be with Sierra and FMP I wouldn't count on this. I have experineced the same issue - I am running sierra and FM adv I have printer scripts that I altered to open as pdf for testing purposes.

When change back and clicked the print option in my script, it still opens as a pdf..! Nightmare as now all the users in the company have to click print on the preview app!!!! With your experience added, we're close to narrow this down to some "save-as-PDF" tasks inflicting this Bug. I'm very unsatisfied about the upgrade cycle of Filemaker almost forcing you to buy the new version with each Mac OS system update.

Yes, but that brings up the printer dialogue screen. I don't think anyone would disagree with you on those points. I've documented about 25 features that should absolutely be in have been in a multi-hundred dollar "database product" almost from v. Version 15 was to me a major disappointment.

UNDO is a version 0. I'm guessing version 16 will be subscription only guaranteed cash flow for FMI and that will be the final nail in the FMP coffin for me. I'll port my remaining apps and remove it. Unlike others, I've only been doing FMP since version 11, about six years.

Unlike other companies who do lots to make their customers happy, I don't get this feeling at all from FMI. At this point, I just use it on a couple apps that are difficult to port. FMP is a decent tool, but feels stale, out of date, not object oriented, and primitive in so many ways Data Viewer, Debugger, the silly script interface in the first place, non-modifiable fonts, overly modal, non-grow-able window panes, non-bound fields, SQL terribly limited and only SELECT in product, multiple, incompatible, date formats, There will probably be others FMP apologists who will dump on this post, but this is just how it's been for me.

I just tried the starter solutions and tried printing from thay using the same script from my solution. It worked fine. So it appears that my solution has been corrupted by sierra? Recover doesnt really work. I hope this will be resoved on in the next update - any ideas when this might be?

Just done more tests - so Sierra was fine with filemaker 14 until i altered my print script to open as a pdf with no dialogue. Once this has been done, there is no way to reverse it, even if I delete the script and start again.

I have removed the printer and reinstalled it to no avail. As mentioned it works fine in a different solution so long as the print script hasn't been altered to open as pdf - this action seems to corrupt the file. And exactly what platform will you port your databases to? For non-tech users, Filemaker Pro strikes a balance between power and accessibility. If you want to do hardcore coding, which most people don't want to do, then you can handwrite the code yourself.

I'm not planning to upgrade to No thanks to the cloud and to SW subscriptions in general. I guess it all depends on what you mean by "run". Good info, thanks.
